If you're like most people, you're pretty amazed by what you just saw. I know I was.
Here's my story. I drank heavily for about a year and then had to go to rehab for a couple of
weeks.A few weeks after getting out I relapsed. This landed
me in rehab for a second time just 3 months later. After getting out of treatment the second time,
I relapsed quickly once again. This eventually led to me getting fired from my job.
After getting fired my drinking got worse. About 8 months after losing my job I had to go
to rehab for a third time. This whole time I'd known about Ibogaine, but I
didn't have the funds to get the treatment. I discovered Ibogaine after getting out of rehab the second when doing
some research online. After two unsuccessful treatments I started to look for
'alternative' therapies. My feeling was that if all I could
count on for help was a 12 step program or AA that I was screwed!
Don't get me wrong, those people at rehab meant well, but it always had the feel of an Amway
meeting. Here's the routine in case you've never been to rehab or gone to a 12 step meeting
before: Everybody stands up and says the Serenity Prayer which goes like this: 'God
grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change; courage to change the things I can;and wisdom to know
the difference.'They claim this is not a religious program but a spiritual
program. Whatever.
Most of the people at these meetings seem brainwashed and constantly sound
off these over used catch phrases like 'meeting makers make it' and 'one day at a
time'. It comes off as insincere from everybody who doesn't have 10 years of recovery. I just can't
get pumped up when I feel like I'm surrounded by a bunch phonies or people that are
brainwashed.

The purpose of this website is not for me to rant about my dissatisfaction with traditional
treatment methods. It is my goal to spread awareness of Ibogaine as
much as possible and to hopefully get you to help me to do the same. At the bottom of the
page is a button for you to click so you can email this site to anybody you want. Social bookmarking links are
provided as well. I will try my best to explain the basics of Ibogaine, but I will provide you
with links to various resources where you can learn more about the topic at your leisure. The important thing is
that visiting this site has provided you with the awareness of a solution to a problem that you did not previously
know existed.
Addiction is a very seriously problem, and if you're visiting this page there is a good chance you
are addicted yourself or know somebody who is. Ibogaine was first discovered to
'interrupt'addiction back in 1962 by a 19 year old Heroin addict named
Howard Lotsof. Since that time there has been some
research on Ibogaine, but no pharmaceutical companies want to fund the research. The FDA recently approved further safety testing for Ibogaine, but the testing will cost
$20 million and nobody will fund it.
Here's where the Real problem
lies.
Howard Lotsof started applying for various patents for the use of Ibogaine to treat various
addictions back in the 80's. At the time of this writing I believe they're all expired. Lotsof went on
to try to obtain the interest of various pharmaceutical companies in Ibogaine and none of them were interested for
the following reasons:
Addicts
die at a rate that is 3-7 times greater than the rest of the population. This increases the liability
of a corporation involved in treating addiction.
Corporations have to invest their money in a way that best increases profits to
shareholders, not in a way that best treats various illnesses.
The stigma
of addiction is so negative, that companies view treating addiction as problematic even if the
treatments are effective.
Additionally, Ibogaine cannot be patented
because it occurs in nature. Finally, Ibogaine is intended as a single administration drug, not a maintenance drug
like Methadone. This means there would be no on going revenue generated by patients treated with Ibogaine. Good for
you, bad for the corporations. Typically, a single dose of Ibogaine will
stop or drastically reduce all opiate withdrawal symptoms, and eliminate cravings and many of the psychological
aspects of addiction for 2-6 months on average. For some people it's less, and for some it's
more. Ibogaine does work for all drugs, but it seems to be most effective for opiates and
alcohol.Because Ibogaine's effects are not permanent, after care and or significant lifetsyle
changes are a necessity or relapse is highly likely.
If Ibogaine was legal and used the way it should be amongst rehabs and doctors, the protocol would
probably call for a handful of doses and or small doses called boosters spread out over the course of several
months or even a few years. That would be the ideal regimen. Unfortunately, getting treated multiple times is not
practical for most because one must usually leave their country to get treatment. However, make no mistake that
Ibogaine is the single most promising tool that is available for
treating addiction. It really gets on my nerves that hardly anybody knows about it. That is
why I decided to start this site.
Here is a link to an article that talks about Ibogaine boosters and discusses what differerent people found
effective regarding redosing. I want to emphasize that Ibogaine is not a cure for addiction, so please do not be
under that impression. This article was written to help explain how beneficial boosters can be and how they can
often be the difference between relapse and long term sobriety.
P.S. Let me know if there is anything in particular you'd like to
see added to this site. I'm always open to suggestions as to how I can make things
easier for people.
